Why We Made the Switch to Hotels Only
NETX Softwash didn’t start as a hotel-only company. Like most softwash contractors, we built our reputation on residential and general commercial jobs: driveways, decks, house exteriors, the standard mix. The shift came after we started taking on larger commercial jobs and saw how different the standards, the stakes, and the actual work were on a hotel property compared to a house.
A homeowner cares about curb appeal. A hotel General Manager is managing a corporate QA inspection score, a PIP budget, and a property that can’t afford a single day of guest disruption. Those are different problems that need a different kind of contractor: one built around commercial-grade equipment, OSHA-compliant crew protocols, and scheduling that works around hotel operations instead of a homeowner’s weekend. We made the call to stop taking residential jobs entirely and build NETX around hotel and hospitality exteriors exclusively, targeting $10,000+ property contracts and 15–20 hotel jobs a year.
